Fishing is crazy right now!

HOT BITE ON CLEAR LAKE

It’s amazing how good the bite is right now. This week has been really good for almost everything. Crappies Walleye Yellow Bass have all been on the chew. We have 4 guides running for us right now and we do have some extra room if your looking for a trip. 4 hr trips are $200 and 7 hr run $300. Muskie trips are a little extra.

We offer shore lunch packages for $25 extra per person. 2 person minimum. Corporate trips are something that we really work hard at. If you’re looking to take out a large number of people with 10 to 20 fishing boats we can make that happen.

Please enjoy some pictures from this week. Thank you

The bite has been great this fall!

It looks like we are going to finish the year strong. We have been on a great Perch and Walleye bite. Best baits have been 1/8 th oz jig with a worm or minnow.  We have also been casting Rip in raps. Dragging small creek chubs in the little lake has been good for finding big fish.  Please swing by our new bait shop Clear Lake Bait and Tackle next time your in town. Nov. 18 – 20th will be our Grand Opening and Ice Season Kickoff we will have some great seminars planned along with piles of door prizes.

We have started to book winter trips! If you’re looking for a great time on the ice give me a call we will get you all set up.

Good Ice Good Bite!

This year the sleeper shack has been doing its job by producing some nice fish. Its not lights out but its good enough to where you can chase fish during the day and pop some nice ones in the shack at night.  The guide service is in neutral at this time because of the big tournament this weekend. This weekend is the 4th annual Yellow Bass Bonanza and we have 510 anglers competing for over $30k in prizes. Monday the 15th we will be in full swing again and we do have some availability before the end of the month. Please call for dates if you have interest in fishing with us before ice out. I would also like to mention spring Walleyes. The 2016 Spring Walleye bite will be one of the best in years. The fishing over the last two open water seasons has been great and this year should be nothing less. If your looking for Walleyes and Crappies book with us in April May or June. If you want Yellow Bass / Walleye Mix June and July.  If you want to Musky fish book May – Oct. Please visit my rates page for all the pricing. Feel free to call anytime.

Hot Bite and Open Dates!

78 PanfishThe Bite is Hot and I have a few dates open this week.  Give me a call for details.  641-529-2359
These trips are for the Clear Lake area.

1/9/14 – 1/12/14 was a very tough bite on West O.

20140113_17032320140112_110533Over the last few days I can honestly say that we got are butts handed to us.  This was the worst weekend I have ever had.  The good news is that it can only get better. We did manage to catch a few hogs.  I’ll be going back over Wednesday to work on the bite for the upcoming run of trips.  I’m going to try a couple different game plans and I do think they will pay off.

Clear Lake has continued to be good for Yellow Bass and Crappie.
Crystal Lake has been a hot spot for Gills and Crappie. Both of those lakes are located in North Central Iowa and a lot of fun to fish.

ICE REPORT!!  The ice is great with little to no snow cover.  20 to 24 inches most everywhere.
Hot Bait.  Clam Dingle Drop and a Maki Maki Pink.

6-23-2013 Weekend Fishing Spirit Lake / Clear Lake

We had a great weekend of fishing and this is a few pictures to show how it went. Most of the fish were caught on Spinners and a Crawler. Up on Spirit we caught 40 slots over two days and multiple Smallmouth. Most of the fish came from the North end. Footbridge to Jackson Point.  Over on Clear we have been pulling spinners on the flats in 12 fow.  The best word of advice is to keep checking your bait because the Yellows are bait thieves.
