I’ve been fishing on and around Clear Lake and the fishing has been great. Lots of panfish are being caught and we still have lots of ice fishing left in this season. I’ll be off to Boji Monday night and won’t be home until Friday night. It sounds like the bite has been getting better and I’m looking forward to some better fishing over there. We do have some spots open over the next few weeks so if your looking for a fun bite give us a call.
I spent the day at Bass Pro in Altoona Iowa. The turnout was huge and the people were great. During my seminar we talked about North Iowa Fishing Tactics. We spent some time talking about Clear Lake, Crystal Lake, and the Iowa Great Lakes. I would like to thank everyone that came out today despite the cold weather.
We have a few spots open the week of the new year. If your looking for a fun bite Clear Lake has been pretty good. We have been catching lots of Yellows and some Walleye mixed in. The Yellows are not huge but lots eaters and there is plenty of them to be caught. If you have any questions about these dates give me a call and I can tell ya what we have open. I’m going to Okoboji Thursday I’ll post a new report when I get back.
This ice fishing season is right around the corner. We have been working hard to get ready for this season and we are very excited to see some ice. We have some great spots ready to kick out some nice fish. It’s just a waiting game now. If your looking for a fun and exciting time on the ice give me a call. A few bites we are looking forward to are Walleyes on Spirit Lake, West Okoboji Gills and Perch, Clear Lake Yellows and Lake X Walleyes. First ice is going to be fantastic so keep an eye on my fishing reports and if it sounds like something that you would like to try give me a call. Please go to my rates page for pricing.
If your looking for a fun time on the ice this could be for you. This lake has a very good panfish population also.
The fishing over the last couple of weeks has been great. Lots of Yellow Bass are being caught and also the Muskie are still going good. Most of the Yellows have gone shallow and the Muskie are not far behind. The Walleye bite has remained slow. We have been getting a few pulling live bait and cranks.
The weather is great and so is the fishing. I’ve heard many good reports from labor day weekend. I was in South Dakota catching Jumbo Perch and Top Water Large Mouth Bass. We had a great time but I’m ready to get back on my home water.
I will have my boat back later today or early tomorrow and I can’t wait to get back out and catch some good fish! I do have 1 or 2 spots open for next weekend and some 4 hr or 7 hr slots open within the next 10 days.
Musky, Walleye, and Yellows are the best targets right now.
With the cooler weather on the way we will be back out Musky fishing next week. The bite has been great this year and we have been boating fish on almost every trip. If your looking for a fun Iowa Fishing trip give me a call. We can put you on numbers (panfish) or a Musky if thats what you want. We have two boats working Clear Lake and one on Coralville call today for more details about Kevan Pauls Guide Service.
Keep in mind that the Walleye bite will start to pick up in September.
Good numbers of Yellow are coming from shallow water. Run a small jig and live bait.
