Lots of Availability and its HOT!! 5-26-15

Hello everyone!! Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately. The fishing over the last month has been the best its been in years and its still red hot right now. We have Walleye and Crappie going on Clear right now and Gills, Bass, Walleye and Crappie on Crystal. Jigs with live bait have been my favorite tactic but pulling cranks can be very good also. Up until June 15 we have a lot of availability weekends or weekdays. June 15-22 we do not have anything available at this time. Muskie fishing is also starting to heat up on Clear and we will be starting those trips in a couple weeks. If you are looking for a good time to go out and catch some very nice fish now is the time. It really doesn’t get much better than this. Yesterday we landed 40 plus walleye over 16 inches with multiple over 20″. Its Cold Out!

The cold snap has had a impact on the bite but we are still finding some good gills and crappie. Tomorrow I take off to Rapid City to fish with some boys from the Rapid City Boys Club. (Hooked On Hard Water Event) This is the most rewarding event I do all year. There is nothing like taking some under privileged kids out ice fishing and truly giving them an opportunity to experience some pretty cool things.

The team will be out with clients all weekend around Clear Lake and I’ll post some reports Monday or Tuesday. I will also be posting my report when I get home. Thanks again for following along everyone!

BIG WEEKEND AT CLEAR LAKE

This weekend is the 3rd annual Yellow Bass Bonanza Ice Fishing Tournament. This year we have 254 teams and we are giving over $25k in cash and prizes. If your around Clear Lake this weekend please feel free to stop by Macintosh state park at 1pm for the weigh in.

Fishing Report – The fishing has been fantastic over the last week. We have been catching Crappie, Gills, and Yellow Bass out on Clear Lake. Most of the fish are being caught in 14fow or less. Crystal lake is slow but they are still catching some limits of gills. The Walleyes are being caught during low light hours on Clear but its a hit or miss on the keepers. Look for Walleyes on the rock reefs.

Great Fishing Right Now!! This year has been crazy good!

The fishing over the last few days have been cold but the fishing has been very good. Okoboji is kicking out some nice limits of Perch and Clear and Crystal are doing well with Crappie Gills and Yellows. Clear has been best in 16 to 24 fow small jigs with pink plastics has been best. Okoboji Waxies and spikes have been good in 18 to 24 fow. The ice on is 8 to 12 across north iowa.

The fishing over the last few days has been great. Lots of nice Crappie and Yellow Bass on Clear, Perch and Gills on West O. and Gills and Crappie on Crystal. Happy Holidays! I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

The fishing has been very good and the dates have been filling fast. We have 3 guides this year and we will be rocking all season. Right now we have a great Crappie bite going and we also have a very aggressive Yellow Bass bite. The Perch are also going well for us at the IGLS. Clear Lake Panfish and Ice Fishing!

Things on Clear are still steady. We have been picking up some nice panfish with a walleye or two mixed in. The Yellows are being caught in 3 to 6 ft in the little lake and the Crappie are starting to make there move to the winter holes. The Muskie fishing has been fair. We have been boating around 1 or 2 per trip.

ICE FISHING!
Its time to start looking at or booking your 2015 ice fishing trip! We have been taking many calls about ice fishing and people have started to book. If your looking at doing a weekend trip this year you should call sooner than later. If your looking at a weekday trip you still have some time yet. This year is going to be a blast!

Great Muskie Fishing!! Are You Ready?

The Last couple days have been great Muskie fishing. This year has blessed us with some great fish. The best part of my fully guided trips are that I will show and teach you exactly how to put one of these in the boat. The top photo is Dan and his 1st ever Muskie!!!!

Muskie Bite is great and the Yellows are about to go on Fire.

The Yellow Bass fishing is starting to pick up. If we put a little work into it I think we could boat a pile of them. (100Plus) The Muskie fishing is also great. Most trips are landing at least one and some are getting multiple opportunities to put some nice fish in the boat. Mike and His Father Bob (75yr old) both picked up a nice fish on Sunday Night. Muskie Fishing is picking up!

The Fishing over the last few days has been fun. Biggest of the year is 49″ and the average is just under 40. If your looking for a fun bite with some good action give Muskie fishing a try!
