April Fishing

April 2020 Clear Lake Iowa

This year has been something special to say the least. We have been fishing Clear Lake Iowa for the last 3 weeks and the bite has been great. The Walleyes are spawning and the Crappies are wanting to come in on the warmer days. The whole Corona thing has put a wrench in the works but we have been doing our due diligence before and after each trip. We spray the boat down with Isopropyl   all the time and I’ve been doing by best to keep our family safe as well. If you want to get out of the house give me a call. 641-529-2359

The Guide Service is separate from our bait shop so please call the number above.

Late Ice on Clear Lake Iowa

Late ice is coming soon and I have a feeling that this one is going to be epic! We will be offering trips into March if all goes well. Last March we smoked the Walleyes and Perch and I’m hoping this year will be the same.

Summer Fun! Book Ice Fishing Trips

The bite this week has been pretty good. We are not catching the numbers of Walleye we were a month ago but the fishing has been good. We are finding more Yellows on every trip and we still have a some good Walleye spots kicking out some nice ones. We do offer some fishing and tubing packages during the summer  so if you want you can fish 2-3 hours and tube for an hour or two. Feel free to call anytime if you have any questions.  641-529-2359

It might be hot but it’s never to early to book an ice fishing trip or sleeper house. We have a dozen in the books already and we get one every week so if you’re after a special weekend this winter make sure to get in the books sooner then later.

Thanks and have a great summer.

This Weeks Review and Report 5-22-17

Clear Lake Review and Report

Over the last few days the weather hasn’t been ideal for Walleye fishing but we have managed to put a pattern together that has kept us on some nice fish all week. Today the weather finally broke and the bite was no different and we boated our limit in under one hour. Today the water has started to climb again and I think we are going to see some insane bites over the next couple of weeks. (Walleye and Muskie both)

Walleye Classic Review
This last weekend we fished in the 28th Annual Clear Lake Walleye Classic and with a little luck we pulled out a solid 7th place finish out of 100 boats. It wasn’t as good as our 4th place finish last year but a top 10 is always good. On Saturday of this years tournament we hooked up with a fish right out of the gate that probably went 3 or 4 pounds. It was the 1st fish of the day and it was only 8 feet away hung up on a piece of structure flopping on the surface. Now there was two things that could have happened, one the fish could have come loose so we could boat it or two the line breaks. You can guess what happened. That fish would have put us right around the top but thats fishing. It seems like every tournament many teams have a fish they loose or the big one gets away. Thats fishing!

The guiding has been fantastic this year and I appreciate all the support from you guys. We have 4 guides working trips right now and everyone is on the same page which is a good thing for our guest. We have a few different bites going as we speak and we are working on more everyday. The Crappie made a move out of the shallows and the spawn is pretty much over so we are on the hunt to find their next location.
The Walleye have been going like gang busters and that bite should only get better.
The Muskie should start heating up this week with the warmer water and the Yellows up shallow spawning.

Just a reminder on our trips we do supply everything and we can take anyone fishing regardless of age or disability. We do offer corporate outings as well and we can put together a group of very good local pros and guides that can manage a very large group. On our corporate outings the sky is the limit.

Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or would like to book a trip.

Thanks Kevan

Fishing is crazy right now!

HOT BITE ON CLEAR LAKE

It’s amazing how good the bite is right now. This week has been really good for almost everything. Crappies Walleye Yellow Bass have all been on the chew. We have 4 guides running for us right now and we do have some extra room if your looking for a trip. 4 hr trips are $200 and 7 hr run $300. Muskie trips are a little extra.

We offer shore lunch packages for $25 extra per person. 2 person minimum. Corporate trips are something that we really work hard at. If you’re looking to take out a large number of people with 10 to 20 fishing boats we can make that happen.

Please enjoy some pictures from this week. Thank you

Spring has arrived and so has the phone calls!

The phone has been ringing off the hook! Thank you every one of all the support.

If you’re looking for a fun time to catch a pile of fish the spring has to be one of the best times. The last couple weeks of April and the month of May is my favorite time to guide open water. Usually the trips are Walleye and Crappie but we do target Muskies often as well. This year we have 4 great guides so if your after a weekend day we can make the happen.

Just a reminder that we cater many corporate trips each year and they can very from just the average trip to the luxury style with shore lunch, trophies, lodging and vip pickup from the hotel. We have managed groups as large as 40 people.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND MY NUMBER IS 641-529-2359

The bite has been great this fall!

It looks like we are going to finish the year strong. We have been on a great Perch and Walleye bite. Best baits have been 1/8 th oz jig with a worm or minnow.  We have also been casting Rip in raps. Dragging small creek chubs in the little lake has been good for finding big fish.  Please swing by our new bait shop Clear Lake Bait and Tackle next time your in town. Nov. 18 – 20th will be our Grand Opening and Ice Season Kickoff we will have some great seminars planned along with piles of door prizes.

We have started to book winter trips! If you’re looking for a great time on the ice give me a call we will get you all set up.

Grand Opening and Much More Thank YOU!

Hello Folks

I just want to say thank you for all the support in the 2016 open water season. This year was a pretty well rounded one with many Walleye and Panfish being caught we even got into a good number of Muskie. Clear Lake is really starting to become a premier fishing destination and we are excited for the future. We opened a bait shop in May of 2016 and that has taken off very well. We will be having a Grand Opening Nov. 18 – 20th. Along with our grand opening we will also be having our Ice Season Kick Off. That weekend is going to be something special. We will be doing a live broadcast from 11am to 1pm on Saturday with Jay Brooks and Kiss Country. Over that weekend we will also be having many seminars and product demos to show off the new product for 2017. The Grand Opening is going to be fantastic! We are going to have many door prize drawings over the weekend and you will not want to miss out. Looking forward to a great Ice Season!!!IMG_3831img_5706
