4-27-14 The fishing is good!

The bite has been great! We have been dealing with some crazy weather but we are still making things happen. Limits of Walleye and some eater size Crappies have been hitting the livewells. Over the next couple weeks we have many weekday spots open and a couple weekend spots. If your looking for a fun bite or maybe even wanting to learn the lake a give us a call you won’t be disappointed. We are a full service guide that supplies everything.

The Numbers are in the lake!!

Over the last few days the local DNR has been gill netting for Walleyes and Muskie on Clear Lake. The numbers this year are great and the quality of fish are very nice. We are going to have a great season on Clear Lake and I can’t wait for the water to warm up this weekend. These pictures are from last night 4-16/17-2014. This Muskie is just under 40lbs! My open water season starts tonight!  These Walleye will be on the chew for a couple months so if your interested get your dates picked out and give me a call.

Great Fishing and Lots of Ice!

I’ve been fishing on and around Clear Lake and the fishing has been great. Lots of panfish are being caught and we still have lots of ice fishing left in this season.  I’ll be off to Boji Monday night and won’t be home until Friday night.  It sounds like the bite has been getting better and I’m looking forward to some better fishing over there.  We do have some spots open over the next few weeks so if your looking for a fun bite give us a call.  Panfish

1/9/14 – 1/12/14 was a very tough bite on West O.

20140113_17032320140112_110533Over the last few days I can honestly say that we got are butts handed to us.  This was the worst weekend I have ever had.  The good news is that it can only get better. We did manage to catch a few hogs.  I’ll be going back over Wednesday to work on the bite for the upcoming run of trips.  I’m going to try a couple different game plans and I do think they will pay off.

Clear Lake has continued to be good for Yellow Bass and Crappie.
Crystal Lake has been a hot spot for Gills and Crappie. Both of those lakes are located in North Central Iowa and a lot of fun to fish.

ICE REPORT!!  The ice is great with little to no snow cover.  20 to 24 inches most everywhere.
Hot Bait.  Clam Dingle Drop and a Maki Maki Pink.

Seminars today at Bass Pro Altoona Iowa

Jan 4th Bass Pro

Jan 4th Bass Pro

Bass Pro 2 Bass Pro  I spent the day at Bass Pro in Altoona Iowa. The turnout was huge and the people were great. During my seminar we talked about North Iowa Fishing Tactics.  We spent some time talking about Clear Lake, Crystal Lake, and the Iowa Great Lakes.  I would like to thank everyone that came out today despite the cold weather.

THANK YOU!!

Walleye’s warming up and Muskie still hungry!

Walleye Clear Lake 10-17The water is in the low 50’s and the Walleyes are starting to pick up.  We fished yesterday for a while and boated two good eaters along with a pile of Yellows. I think if we strictly fish for Walleyes we could boat a couple limits.  These fish came on a jig and minnow.  We will be out this weekend looking for more eyes and Yellows and I’ll try to post a report Sunday!  The Muskie fishing is still good. We are boating one fish per trip on average. Muskie fishing is hard work but man it is totally worth it!

Early October Fishing!

The fishing has been pretty good over the last couple of weeks.  The Walleye fishing is still slow but we have been catching some nice large mouth bass along with some great looking Clear Lake Musky.  The Yellow Bass are also on the chew.

We are looking forward to this winter.  This ice fishing season is going to be one to remember.

We have been booking many winter trips already and some weekends are going to fill very fast so if you have plans to visit KPGS this winter contact us soon. 20131008_105530IMG950448musky 42 10-6-13
