This year we have been targeting everything from Perch to Walleyes so it will be nice to change things up and start chasing fish with an attitude. The Clear Lake Muskie population is awesome and the DNR do a great job stocking fish on a regular basis. This lake will almost always give you a shot for a fish of a life time. Its almost over!! BUT!!!!!!!
I can tell you that this ice season has been great. We have had some fantastic bites between Okoboji and Clear Lake. I want to say thank you to everyone that came to visit.
Its TIME!!!!!!! SPRING WALLEYES!!!!!!
It’s time to start thinking about spring Walleyes and Crappies. The last two years the spring fishing has been unreal. It doesn’t matter if you like Panfish or Walleyes, we will be able to put you on a great bite. The calendar fills up fast so I recommend booking sooner than later. Great Fishing In Iowa
Clear Lake, Spirit Lake and the IGLS have been good. The sleeper on Clear has been kicking out some nice panfish with a few nice Walleye mixed in. The Yellow bass have been biting like crazy on the west end of the big lake. If your looking for Yellows work 8 to 10 ft and when you start to catch a few drill out the area so you can cover more water. If your looking for Crappie work the little lake dredge cuts. Over at the IGLS Spirit has been good. You will want to work 21ft out from buffalo run. The bite on East has probably been the most consistent bite at boji this year. If you fish east work 18 to 20 ft and small spoons has been the ticket for us. Fish the bar at Emerson’s if your looking for gills. Small dingle drop with a smashed waxie has been our best bait.
Its been a good week for reservations. Its funny, I go a week without any then boom 5 or 6 come in two days. I sold 3 gift certificates and 2 reg. bookings yesterday and today. I’ve been also taking reservations for the sleeper house. Its a 8×20 Ice Castle with knotty pine interior, satellite tv, stove, oven, sofa, dinning table and 4 beds. The sleeper runs 200 a week night or 250 a night on weekends and weekends have a two night minimum.
Yesterday Clear Lake was iced over and after all the rain today it opened back up. This early ice bite should be lights out. Most of the fish haven’t been touched in two months and they should be ready to chow down. We are also looking forward to the hot bite at Okoboji this year.
