April 2022 Guided Fishing Opportunities

We are pretty much ready to roll and able to book trips. This year we will also be offering semi-guided Wader Fishing Classes and our famous Ride and Cast trips where we jump in your boat and help you work on anything you need.

If this year is anything like this winter we are in for a treat. The lake is at a unbelievable stage right now. Crappies are at a 10 YR High and the Walleye Fishing IS and Has Been Crazy Good for months now. Although I say crazy good YES sometimes it’s down but overall the lake is in great shape and now with the new protected slot the quality is getting better daily. This year we will have multiple guides operating on Clear Lake and our new guide Mike M. Will be operating on both Clear Lake and the Cedar River in a Jet Boat. If you have never been in a jet boat you have to try it once.  Plus you will have a opportunity to catch world class Smallmouth Bass and beautiful River Walleyes. The river does offer more favorable harvest limits on Walleyes too.  The DNR will be starting to fill net the Walleyes this weekend if the weather cooperates. Like years past I’ve ask to volunteer and help out. Great chance to learn more about the lake and the future of our fishery.

If you would like to book a trip half days are $375* for 1 to 2 people and $75 per extra person. Full day trips are $575* for the first 2 people and $75 per extra.  Depending on future gas prices some of these prices may change.

Wader fishing trips 5 hrs $400 1-2 guest.
RIDE AND CAST $275 3-4  hrs

Appreciate all the continued support and we’re looking forward to the new opportunities we may have to “Create Memories One Cast At A Time”

Thank You, FISH-On and FISH SAFE!

Clear Lake Iowa Fishing 4/30

Walleye and Crappie

Water Temp 55 – 58
4-30-2020

The Walleye bite has been pretty good overall. Live Bait presentaions like casting jigs or using slip bobbers have been good. Macintosh has the cleaning station open so we can clean and bag your fish without trouble.

The Crappie bite is what I’m getting excited for. The Crappies this year are very nice. We have a very healthy year class of 11″ to 13″ fish. I’ve seen a couple over 15.

*We spray the boat down after every trip
*We Clean and Bag Your Fish
*All boat ramps are open
*All gear provided
*Please Bring me snacks  haha!

Great Day on the water!

Fall Fishing and Ice Fishing Rentals

The fall bite on Clear Lake is approaching fast! If you would like to get in on some fall Walleye and Crappie fishing please give us a call. We have also been booking ice fishing trips and sleeper house rentals.  Call today for ice fishing details.  Thanks and see ya on the water.

The bite has been great!

It’s been a great season so far on Clear Lake and even with all the rain the bite continues to be good. We have been catching limits of Walleye on most trips with some Yellow Bass, Pike, and panfish mixed in. Most of the fish have been caught on Leeches or Worms. We have been using a lot of jigs and slip bobbers over the last 3 weeks and the bite has been in 4-8 feet of water for most trips. After the 4th of July we have many spots open. Guide Trips run $300 for 2 people and that covers 4 hours of fishing and we will clean your fish. You will enjoy the day on the lake with us.

Please visit our facebook page Kevan Pauls Guide Service and give it a LIKE. We are much more active on that page. I’ll do my best post more reports here as well.

Please call 641-529-2359 to book your trip today.

Late Ice on Clear Lake Iowa

Late ice is coming soon and I have a feeling that this one is going to be epic! We will be offering trips into March if all goes well. Last March we smoked the Walleyes and Perch and I’m hoping this year will be the same.

2017/2018 Ice Fishing Trips

The 2017/2018 Ice Fishing Season is approaching fast and this year is going to be a lot of fun. We have a few new lakes on the hit list and we can’t wait to get on some hard water. This winter we will have some very good Perch opportunities. Perch have been running 10-14 inches long with most being 11″-12″ We will also have a couple good Walleye lake’s to target this winter. This winter is going to be one of the best ones yet. Just think….. Iowa Fishing – catching Walleyes, Jumbo Perch, Slab Crappies, and Yellow Bass by the buckets. Should be an interesting season.

Book 4 hour or 7 hour guide trips or stay in one of our sleeper houses

Summer Fun! Book Ice Fishing Trips

The bite this week has been pretty good. We are not catching the numbers of Walleye we were a month ago but the fishing has been good. We are finding more Yellows on every trip and we still have a some good Walleye spots kicking out some nice ones. We do offer some fishing and tubing packages during the summer  so if you want you can fish 2-3 hours and tube for an hour or two. Feel free to call anytime if you have any questions.  641-529-2359

It might be hot but it’s never to early to book an ice fishing trip or sleeper house. We have a dozen in the books already and we get one every week so if you’re after a special weekend this winter make sure to get in the books sooner then later.

Thanks and have a great summer.

June 26th Fishing Report

Clear Lake Iowa

I wish I could sit here and tell you that the last few days was on fire but it wasn’t. We had a huge cold front come in a few days ago and the water dropped 11 degrees and shut the bite down. One thing that has helped me become the guide I am today is honesty. 6-24-17 and 6-25-17 were the worst two days I’ve had all year and I really didn’t want to go today but I’m glad I did. I called my customer last night and told him what the bite was like and they decided to stick it out and go fishing anyway despite what I thought. Lonnie and Deb knew the weather was going to be great, so regardless we were going to have a good time.

Today we chased Walleyes and didn’t do to bad. We lost a really nice 20 plus inch fish at the boat and landed some nice eaters with a bonus catfish. haha

Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

Thank You

This Weeks Review and Report 5-22-17

Clear Lake Review and Report

Over the last few days the weather hasn’t been ideal for Walleye fishing but we have managed to put a pattern together that has kept us on some nice fish all week. Today the weather finally broke and the bite was no different and we boated our limit in under one hour. Today the water has started to climb again and I think we are going to see some insane bites over the next couple of weeks. (Walleye and Muskie both)

Walleye Classic Review
This last weekend we fished in the 28th Annual Clear Lake Walleye Classic and with a little luck we pulled out a solid 7th place finish out of 100 boats. It wasn’t as good as our 4th place finish last year but a top 10 is always good. On Saturday of this years tournament we hooked up with a fish right out of the gate that probably went 3 or 4 pounds. It was the 1st fish of the day and it was only 8 feet away hung up on a piece of structure flopping on the surface. Now there was two things that could have happened, one the fish could have come loose so we could boat it or two the line breaks. You can guess what happened. That fish would have put us right around the top but thats fishing. It seems like every tournament many teams have a fish they loose or the big one gets away. Thats fishing!

The guiding has been fantastic this year and I appreciate all the support from you guys. We have 4 guides working trips right now and everyone is on the same page which is a good thing for our guest. We have a few different bites going as we speak and we are working on more everyday. The Crappie made a move out of the shallows and the spawn is pretty much over so we are on the hunt to find their next location.
The Walleye have been going like gang busters and that bite should only get better.
The Muskie should start heating up this week with the warmer water and the Yellows up shallow spawning.

Just a reminder on our trips we do supply everything and we can take anyone fishing regardless of age or disability. We do offer corporate outings as well and we can put together a group of very good local pros and guides that can manage a very large group. On our corporate outings the sky is the limit.

Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or would like to book a trip.

Thanks Kevan

Fishing is crazy right now!

HOT BITE ON CLEAR LAKE

It’s amazing how good the bite is right now. This week has been really good for almost everything. Crappies Walleye Yellow Bass have all been on the chew. We have 4 guides running for us right now and we do have some extra room if your looking for a trip. 4 hr trips are $200 and 7 hr run $300. Muskie trips are a little extra.

We offer shore lunch packages for $25 extra per person. 2 person minimum. Corporate trips are something that we really work hard at. If you’re looking to take out a large number of people with 10 to 20 fishing boats we can make that happen.

Please enjoy some pictures from this week. Thank you
